Indian Head Massage comes from the ancient Ayurvedic healing system and has been practised in India for over a thousand years.

It consists of a deeply relaxing massage of the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp.

Its beneficial effects include:

  • relief from aches and pains - including headaches and migraine
  • relieving stress, muscular tension and eyestrain
  • enhanced blood and lymphatic circulation
  • improved skin tone
  • improved concentration
  • promotes hair growth.

For centuries Indian women have used this technique, combined with the application of oils, to keep their hair thick, healthy and in beautiful condition.

The course will enable you to help members of your family and friends by soothing away their tension, stress and fatigue after long hours spent studying, working or driving. You will also learn possible contraindications to Indian Head Massage and about some oils that can be used to enhance the effects of a treatment. This massage is done fully clothed, however it is best to wear a T-shirt and not arrive straight from the hairdressers!
